Nigerian DIES Onboard Emirates Dubai-Lagos Flight

Emirates Airline on Friday, December 15 confirmed the death of a Nigerian, Kofo Abaniwonda onboard its flight from Dubai to Lagos.

The spokesman of the airline indicated cabin crew onboard Flight EK 783 from Dubai to Lagos  found a passenger unconscious in her seat as the flight was preparing for descent.

The statement read “Our cabin crew consulted doctors on board the flight and on the ground via Emirates’ Medlink system. “However the passenger was unresponsive. Upon arrival in Lagos, medical authorities on the ground declared  she had sadly passed away. Emirates expresses its condolences to the family,” the airline said.

The Nigerian Navy yesterday decorated Jamila Malafa, with the rank of Navy Commodore, the first northern female commodore in the history of the Nigerian Navy.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral Henry Babalola said by her discipline, resilience and commitment to the Nigerian Navy, she is eminently qualified to be the first northern female commodore.

President Muhammadu Buhari Extends Tenure Of CDS, Service Chiefs!

President Muhammadu Buhari has, again, approved the extension of the tenures of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Gabriel Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai; Chief Of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar and the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas.

The approval was confirmed by the minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali.

He noted in a statement by his public relations officer, Colonel Tukur Gusau, yesterday, that the president extended the tenures.
