Man to Die By Hanging for Armed Robbery in Ekiti

A middle aged man, Waliu Abifarin was on Wednesday sentenced to death by hanging for armed robbery by an Ado-Ekiti High Court.

The presiding Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, who found Abifarin guilty on the strength of evidence adduced before the court by the prosecution, added that the prosecution has proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.

Daramola ruled that Abifarin was guilty of one-count charge of armed robbery contrary to Section 1 (2) (a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap R11 Vol. 14 laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

Japan To Beef Up Missile Defence System Against North Korea

Japan's government on Tuesday approved the introduction of the US military's land-based Aegis missile interceptor system, beefing up its defence against "serious" and "imminent" North Korea threats.


The regime in Pyongyang has fired two missiles over Japan this year and has threatened to "sink" the country into the sea.  

Last month, North Korea test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that plunged into the waters of Japan's exclusive economic zone.

A report by May's Cabinet secretary concluded Green had made misleading statements regarding his knowledge about the indecent images found by police.

China’s Defense Ministry on Thursday urged the United States to abandon its Cold War mentality and opt for closer military cooperation, in response to a new US national security strategy.

In a statement posted on the Chinese social media network WeChat, the defense ministry expressed hope that "the US will abandon its Cold War mentality, look objectively at how the Chinese Army is evolving, work together with China to promote closer cooperation between the two nations’ militaries… protect regional and global peace, stability and prosperity together,"

Beijing To Have 1st Unmanned Subway By December 2017

China's sunburn railway system will launch its first unmanned subway line in Beijing by December end. It is undergoing a series of trail runs at present.



The unmanned service will cover a stretch of 14.4 mms from Yanshan to Fangshan areas through the southwest of Beijing. The train has a top speed of 80 km an hour. Once the connection is established, the Yanshan area in the city's outskirts will be linked to the city centre.
