Beijing To Have 1st Unmanned Subway By December 2017

China's sunburn railway system will launch its first unmanned subway line in Beijing by December end. It is undergoing a series of trail runs at present.



The unmanned service will cover a stretch of 14.4 mms from Yanshan to Fangshan areas through the southwest of Beijing. The train has a top speed of 80 km an hour. Once the connection is established, the Yanshan area in the city's outskirts will be linked to the city centre.




It will then take a total of one to travel the full will take passengers one hour to travel from the suburban Yanshan to the city center.



The new line will have nine elevated stations which have already been constructed along the route. The stations feature enclosed air-conditioned waiting areas.




"Technically speaking, the Yanshan to Fangshan line has run completely unmanned," Lv Aiguo, the project manager for the information systems of the new subway line told Beijing News.
