That boy better thank his stars he's not in Nigeria. Mum will first forget she was the one who bought the game. She will go ahead and conspire with his Dad to beat da living daylight out of him, seize the game and possibly strip him of any gift (including Christmas Cloth) until further notice.
That's when you wee hear.... Shey oni orie o pe ni, olodo boy. Aren't you suppose to know they charge? Is that how your mates play the game? I'm sure Ade, our neighbors son would have told his parents they charge cuz i saw him playing the same soccer game 3 days ago.
Laughs....Until they see Ade's parent and confirm he never knew too but his parents can't be bothered anyway cuz too much money dey their account. Who now truly deserves to be whipped? I bow for African parents yo.
Back to our story. A mum has been left distressed a few weeks before Christmas after her
teenage son accidently spent her entire month’s salary playing PlayStation
game.
The woman, who is
from Cork but wished to remain anonymous, purchased the FIFA 18 game (age rated
3+) for her 14-year-old son with her debit card. What she – and
her son- didn’t realize is that it has in-game purchases, The Irish Mirror reported.
A few days later,
the lady tried to take money out of her bank account only to be told she has
insufficient funds. Her entire month’s salary, including the bonus she
received, was spent. Speaking to PJ
Coogan on Cork’s 96FM, she said:
He [her son] just didn’t
understand that every ten points was costing him more money. I think you need
the points to move players but I am not aware of how it works. When purchasing the game or
playing it they don’t tell you that this has a cost element. He didn’t have to
do anything or click anything to activate my card. He never knew that when he was
clicking away the money was being taken out of my account. The mum swiftly contacted
PlayStation, who informed her FIFA 18 is an adult's game, and cannot return her
money. Now, she’s taken it upon herself
to warn other parents.
Maybe
there was [a lock or warning system in place] but my 14-year-old son didn’t see
it. He did not have to put in card details or anything as my card was already
registered.
Her son is “so upset” by what’s happened he’s blaming himself and, according to his mum, hasn’t left his room.
