Uncle Jailed 46 years for Stabbing Niece to Death

This is one sickening hell of a news. Oloshi somebody. Oniranu Agbaya alainikanse (meaning very useless Uncle).

A SYDNEY man who stabbed his niece to death and dumped her body in a blowhole has been jailed for at least 34-and-a-half years.

Derek Barrett, 29, previously pleaded guilty to murdering Chinese university student Mengmei Leng, whose naked body was found floating in the blowhole at Snapper Point on the NSW Central Coast in April 2016.

“This was a despicable crime of extreme brutality and great wickedness,” Justice Helen Wilson said at the NSW Supreme Court on Friday when sentencing Barrett to 46 years in jail with a non-parole period of 34 years and six months. Ms Leng, 25, had lived with Barrett and her aunt in the southwest Sydney suburb of Campsie since arriving in Australia to study five years before her murder.

“I betrayed my own family and hers for my actions,” Barrett said at the NSW Supreme Court on Wednesday during his sentencing hearing. “I disgust myself.” Barrett admitted he was sexually attracted to Ms Leng. “She was a pretty girl,” he said.

Amazon Becomes Mexico's Top Online Retailer in 2017!!!

According to a Euromonitor International report, the e-commerce giant likely doubled its sales to become the biggest internet retailer in Mexico this year, helping to grow the country's nascent e-commerce market by a third.

Amazon.com Inc likely doubled its sales to become the biggest internet retailer in Mexico this year, helping to grow the country's nascent e-commerce market by a third, according to a report by market research firm Euromonitor International.
The world's largest online retailer will generate $502.2 million in Mexico sales this year compared with $243.9 million last year, the Euromonitor report said. Its findings were based on trade surveys, market studies and data research.
Online sales still account for slightly over 3 percent of all retail sales in Mexico, where shoppers fear credit card fraud and are often paid in cash. Internet shopping represents nearly 12 percent of all retail sales in the United States.

Michael Kors Commits to Going Fur-Free in 2018!!!

Michael Kors is going fur-free. The American accessible luxury brand announced Friday that it will no longer use animal fur in its products, with production being phased out by the end of December 2018. The policy will apply companywide, including the Jimmy Choo brand, which Kors acquired in July.
The house, which has paraded models down the runway wearing luxurious fur coats in the past, joins a growing number of fashion companies looking at alternatives after coming under pressure from animal rights activists and changing consumer tastes.
“This decision marks a new chapter as our company continues to evolve its use of innovative materials,” said John D. Idol, Michael Kors’ chairman and chief executive, in a statement.
“Due to technological advances in fabrications, we now have the ability to create a luxe aesthetic using non-animal fur,” added designer Michael Kors. “We will showcase these new techniques in our upcoming runway show in February.”

Trump's Policy...Dozens Arrested in Libreville Following Knife Attack on Two Danes

Police in Gabon have arrested dozens of people on Sunday over a knife attack in the capital apparently committed in retribution for “US attacks against Muslims” following Trump’s policy shift regarding Jerusalem, officials said.

The men detained were mostly traders and sellers in the popular market in Libreville where the attack occurred on Saturday and all are from west Africa, according to an AFP correspondent. The two men, who were working for the National Geographic channel, were stabbed while shopping in a market popular with tourists, said defence minister Etienne Massard, adding that the attack appeared to be politically motivated. "Following this cowardly and despicable act, the government wishes to assure the people that Gabon will not become a theatre for attacks against our way of life"

“According to the first testimonies at the scene, the assailant, a 53-year-old Nigerien man, shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ (“God is Greatest”) during the attack. He was arrested on the spot,” said Massard. The man, who has lived in Gabon for 19 years, “in his first statements said he acted in retaliation for US attacks against Muslims and America’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital”.

PENGASSAN calls for strike after talks fail

A major Nigerian oil union said on saturday it would launch a strike from Monday after talks aimed at resolving a dispute with domestic oil and gas companies reached a deadlock.

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), whose members mainly work in the upstream oil industry, is clashing with the companies over laying off of union members.

The strike could hit Nigeria’s oil production and dent exports, as they did in December last year during a PENGASSAN action against ExxonMobil.

Teen Hacker Buys Ducati Motorcycle After Stealing $300,000 From Airlines

Three teens and an elderly 27-year-old hacked an online airplane ticket sales site and managed to sell off a staggering $307,000 worth of tickets on Facebook. What’d they do with the money? Dumbest ever when you find out considering the risk. Continue...........

The hackers got access to the travel agent ticket pool for the budget airline Citilink Indonesia and siphoned out the Rp 4.1 billion ($307,461 USD) worth of tickets through the site Tiket.com, one of the largest of its kind in Indonesia, JakartaGlobe reported. The hackers sold these tickets on Facebook.

The mastermind behind the hack, a 19-year-old identified by his initials as ‘SH,’ admitted he personally collected some Rp 600 million (around $45,000), and his spending habits were, uh, less than long term, as JakartaGlobe notes:

George Zimmerman Says He’ll Beat Up, Feed Jay-Z to Alligators Over Trayvon Martin Document!

Laughs. Like seriously?

Trayvon Martin’s killer is still flapping his lips. And this time George Zimmerman has threatened violence against Jay-Z over a Martin documentary that is currently in production.

Earlier this year, Jay-Z announced that he was working with the Weinstein Company to produce a six-part documentary about Martin’s life titled, Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, based on attorney Lisa Bloom’s book Suspicion Nation. Although Harvey Weinstein is no longer with the company, the documentary is still being created and executive-produced by Michael Gasparro.

Trump Administration Has Reportedly Banned the CDC From Using Words Such as 'Transgender' and 'Fetus'

In its signature authoritarian preference of democratic governing style, the Trump administration has reportedly banned the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from using seven words in their budget documents. The words are: “entitlement,” “diversity,” “transgender,” “fetus,” “evidence-based,” “science-based,” and “vulnerable.”

This could cause problems because scientists might need some of those words, like “fetus,” to study fetal brain development to make sure your fetus doesn’t get fucking microcephaly. It’s times like this that I imagine I’ll look back in ten years (if humans are still alive) and think, “hmm, that was probably the time to move.”00:00

Or was August the time to go, when the Department of Agriculture banned phrases like “climate change” and “reduce greenhouse gasses” and replaced them with “weather extremes” and “increase nutrient use efficiency”?

Or was it June, when the “travel ban” was actually “extreme vetting” until it wasn’t?
Anyway, here we are again. According to the Washington Post, policy analysts at the CDC in Atlanta report that “senior officials” briefed them on Thursday to replace phrases like “science-based” or “evidence-based,” with “CDC bases its recommendations on science in consideration with community standards and wishes.” Which essentially means “science”–the one major thing the CDC needs to make sure we’re not all going to die–is now subject to approval by any ole schmo who has an opinion about it.
